Elkader Register, Thur., 10 Feb. 1887. Millville column. Written for the 03 Feb. 1887 edition but failed to arrive in time for inclusion.

The dark shadow of the angel of death has again been cast over our community, and one of our most highly respected citizens removed from our midst. Joseph Conway died at his residence on Friday morning, Jan. 28th, after a lingering sickness of several months. His remains were interred in Holy Cross cemetery, Dubuque County.
