Mrs. Thomas Donahoe died December 26, 1931, in the Moran hospital here following an operation, December 18th.
Agnes Fallon Donahoe was born in Garnavillo, February 18, 1867, the daughter of Michael and Sarah Fallon and thus at the time of her death had reached the age of 64 years, 10 months and eight days.
Previous to the date of her marriage, Mrs. Donahoe served as teacher in various of the rural schools of the county. May 09, 1905, she was united in the holy bonds of wedlock with Thomas Donahoe in the Catholic church at Garnavillo and to this union one daughter, Irene, was born. For a while the Donahoe's lived on a farm in Read township, later moving to Elkader which has since been their home.
Mrs. Donahoe was a quiet home-loving woman, highly esteemed by all who knew her and while knowledge of her illness was quite general her death was a shock to friends and family.
She was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic church here in which church services were held Monday morning, Dec. 28th, The Rev. Father Taken, Elkader; Sharphoff, Garnavillo, and Horsefield, McGregor, officiating. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery. The pall-bearers were: Earl B. Becker, C. C. Oehring, Mike Miller, W. W. Davidson, Jake Walz and F. A. Niemeyer.
Those from a distance who attended the funeral included: Mrs. Joseph Mulroney and son and N. F. Donahoe of Emmetsburg; Mrs. Phil Cullen, Wittemore , and W. A. Donahoe, Fenton, Iowa
