Charles Fred Beutel, a life-long resident of Guttenberg, passed away at his home there, Dec. 21, 1931, after an illness of about a year's duration.
He was born in Guttenberg July 16, 1860, the son of Gustave and Charlotte Beutel. Nov. 23, 1886, he was married to Jennie Fry and to this union two sons were born, Leo and Alfred, the former dying in infancy.
For many years Mr. Beutel conducted a livery stable and soft drink parlor in Guttenberg, but he sold the latter to Leo. Nigg several years ago. He is survived by his widow, one son Alfred, two sisters, Misses Louise and Minnie Beutel, both of Guttenberg as well as two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at the late home Thursday, Dec. 24th, and interment was made in the City cemetery at Guttenberg, the Rev. Dale Welsch officiating.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral was Miss Lucille Beutel of Chicago.
