The deceased, Mr. Wm. H. Kluth, son of Karl Kluth, was born May 01, 1855, in Read township, Clayton County, Iowa, and died Monday night, Dec. 28th, at the home of his son, Joe Kluth. The deceased has been confined to bed since the first day of August of this year. The cause of Mr. Kluth's death was weakening of the body, brought on by old age.
The deceased was united in marriage to Miss Marie Moine on Oct. 14, 1879, at Clayton Center. Nine children were born to this union. Five children preceded him in death. The four living are: Mrs. J. Hook, George Kluth, Mrs. Gus Sabann and Joe Kluth, all of Clayton county. His wife passed away Dec. 30th, 1928.
Mr. Kluth was born in Clayton county and spent his entire life in this county with the exception of nine years, which he spent in South Dakota homesteading.
Mr. Kluth was baptized and confirmed and a member of Friedens church.
He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his four children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a host of friends. The deceased reached the age of 76 years, seven months and 27 days.
Services were at the home at 12 o'clock and at Friedens church at one o'clock today. Interment was at Farmersburg.
