Funeral services for Lloyd M. Barnes of Delhi were held at the Franklin Undertaking Parlors Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F. W. Cass, M.E. pastor of Delhi. The Hopkinton A.F. & A.M. lodge, of which the deceased was a member, and the local A.F. & A.M. lodge conducted services at the grave. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery.
L. M. Barnes, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Barnes, was born at this place Oct. 15, 1874. He grew to manhood here and graduated in the class with his twin brother, Ralph C., from the local public school in 1893. After graduation he took a course in pharmacy at Northwestern University. He was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Blake of this place Aug. 19, 1902. For a time Mr. Barnes and his twin brother conducted a drug store here and later the deceased went to West Union and conducted a drug store a short time and in 1903 went to Delhi where he has since resided.
About a year ago he suffered a paralytic stroke and last Tuesday evening was stricken with another stroke, from which he never regained consciousness, and passed away early Wednesday morning. His parents, a sister and brother preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, his twin brother Ralph C. of Davenport, also one sister and two other brothers, Mrs. J. R. (Dot) Martin of Lakeport, Cal.; Guy K. and John, both of California, besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.
