Clayton County Register, Thur., 17 Sept. 1931.
The body of an unidentified man was found in Bloody Run, a short distance north of the Marquette stock yards near Marquette, about ten o'clock last Saturday forenoon, by George Meyer of that place.
The body of the man was badly decomposed when found, indicating that he had been in the water for some time. Nothing was found on the body by which it could be identified. The man was fairly well dressed in a dark suit with light stripes. He appeared to be between 35 and 45 years of age, about six feet tall and weighed between 185 and 190 pounds. His hair was dark.
Following the finding of the body Coroner Leslie Oelke was called and an inquest was held with Everett Hagensick, George Pilkington and James Neylon constituting the jury. It was their verdict that the man died of accidental drowning.
