GUTTENBERG: The body of John Kuempel, Sr., was brought to Guttenberg from Dubuque Saturday. Mr. Kuempel fell from the second story window of his son's home several weeks ago and was taken to Dubuque, but due to old age, he could not recover.

Mr. Kuempel had been a resident of this place for many years, having been owner of the Guttenberg Hardware Store. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. There are two sons, Reuben of Guttenberg and Lee of Minneapolis; one brother, Ed. of Guttenberg, and five grandchildren; also some other relatives. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30, the Rev. Dale Welch officiating, and burial was made in the city cemetery.
