Clayton County Register, Thur., 16 July 1931.

Cyril Heins, 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Heins, living five miles southeast of Luana, died Monday on the operating table as the result of being accidentally shot by his 11-year-old cousin, Ernest Heins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heins. The boys had been hunting groundhogs Sunday.

The bullet struck the boy in the back. Ernest Heins was badly frightened by the accident and did not call for help for about two hours, by which time the older boy had lost considerable blood. His condition, however, from the first was critical.
