Mary Ann (nee Walker) Revell was born in England, Oct. 01, 1843, and departed from this life on the 30th of June, 1931, at the age of 87 years, 9 months. On Oct. 16, 1866, she was married in England to George Revell and four years later in 1870 they came to Iowa, settling on a farm in Sperry township, where Mr. Revell died in March, 1891. To this union there were born six children, two dying in infancy. The four surviving are: Alfred of Central City, Iowa; William of Banning, California; Frank of Butte, Montana; and Sarah, now Mrs. Louis Kottman, with whom she has made her home for many years. She also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was a member of the church of England, and after coming to America joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Volga and attended services until ill health prevented her from attending. The casket bearers were: James Bowles, Walter Everitt, Cecil Thyer, Edward Everett, Arthur Eckheart and Edwin Larson. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, July 01, Rev. Chamberlain, pastor of the church, officiating. The interment was in Hill Crest cemetery.
