Una Edith Coutant died Tuesday morning, June 30, at Iowa City. She had been suffering for several months from tuberculosis. She was born October 19, 1908, the daughter of Mr. Haviland A. Coutant and Mrs. Hannah Dana Coutant, in New Hampton, Iowa. She moved to Elkader with her parents in 1920. She is survived by her father, five sisters and four brothers. Her sisters are: Mrs. Violet Pikoulas of Des Moines, Mrs. H. D. Layne of Chicago, Mrs. Joseph Wach of Guttenberg, Mrs. M. D. Montgomery of Cleveland, and Doleen. Her brothers are: Vernon Coutant of Gladstone, Mich., Osmon, Charles, and Blair. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. C. T. Brewster at the home and at the Congregational church on Friday afternoon, July 03. Burial took place in the East Side cemetery.
