Raymond Harrison Nading was born November 24, 1895, and at the time of his death was 35 years, seven months and ten days old. April 12, 1921, he was united in marriage with Alta Scovil and since that time they have made their home in and around Littleport. For 13 months he served in the World War, being abroad for ten months. He entered the service May 26, 1918, and was honorably discharged June 15, 1919. Raymond leaves to mourn his untimely departure his wife, one daughter, Evelyn, and one son, Leo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Nading of Littleport; one brother, Merle, of Lansing, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Tom White of Guttenberg, and Miss Hazel Nading of Dubuque, besides many other relatives and friends. One infant daughter preceded him in death a year ago. Funeral services were held at the home of his parents Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Damm officiated. Interment was made in the Union cemetery, The following served as pall bearers: John and Michael O'Day, J. P. Zapf, Emmett Randall, Herman Nightengale, and Karl Ortman.
A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the services to pay their last respects to one who had spent his entire life in this community. He was a good neighbor and well liked by all those who knew him.
