Ernest Oscar Probert died Saturday, June 20, 1931, in the Mercy Hospital at Waverly, following an attack of appendicitis of one week duration.
Deceased was born May 29, 1886, at Volga, Iowa, the son of William and Mary Probert. He received his education in the rural schools of Highland township and the Volga City High School. September 15, 1909, he was united in marriage at Oelwein to Miss Minnie Steckleberg and to this union one son was born, namely, William Probert, Jr.
Besides the widow and his son, deceased is survived by his father, one brother, H. O. Probert, and one sister, Eva Probert.
Deceased followed the occupation of farming in Highland township, where he enjoyed the faith of those who knew him. He was township trustee for a number of years and a member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 23, with interment in Volga City, the Rev. Fred Lagenberg officiating.
