The body of Juhn S. Shops, a former resident of Elkader, will be brought here for burial this afternoon and interment will be made in the East Side cemetery, according to information received here Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Shops, who was a towerman for the (Next few words blurred.) Cedar Rapids, died at his home there Tuesday morning at 5:30. Death followed a lingering illness. He was born Oct. 29, 1863, near Elkader, but had been a resident of Cedar Rapids for the past twelve years. Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Hill, of Hayward, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Shops was a member of the Golden Rod Odd Fellows at Arlington, of the Modern Woodmen and Royal Neighbors of Cedar Rapids and of the Christian church at Arlington.
