Joe White, 19, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., was electrocuted last Sunday on an island in the Mississippi near McGregor, when 66,000 volts passed through his body.
The youth boasted to two companions that he could climb to the top of the high steel tower, which supports high tension lines on the island, and carve his initials there. Reaching the top, the boy paused to take out his jack-knife and wave to his companions below. Immediately there was an arc, which it is claimed, could be seen a mile away and the lifeless and blackened body of the boy dropped to the feet of his companions below.
