GARBER: Fred Henry Dannenbring was born September 27, 1861, in the vicinity of Guttenberg. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Elkport on April 02, 1876. Mr. Dannenbring was united in marriage to Miss Mary Clefisch on March 22, 1889. Their first home was on a farm near Greeley, where they lived for three years. Later they moved on a farm two miles east of Garber, where they lived until the year 1923. Mr. and Mrs. Dannenbring then purchased their present home in Garber, where Mr. Dannenbring died on April 18, 1931, at the age of 69 years, six months and 21 days. Three years ago he suffered a stroke and had never fully regained his health, although his illness was not of a serious nature until several weeks before his death.

Mr. and Mrs. Dannenbring were blessed with ten children, three children preceding their father in death. Left to mourn his death are the following: his widow and seven children, namely: John, Mrs. Luella Harris, Mrs. Katie Kregel, all of Garber; Mrs. Sophie Harris, Mrs. Adeline Hohl, Bernice and Edward Dannenbring, all of Burlington; also five grandchildren and one brother, William; also many other relatives and friends by whom he will sadly be missed. Mr. Dannenbring was a kind and thoughtful neighbor, doing many deeds of kindness for them in sickness and when help was needed. The funeral was held from the St. John's church, Rev. John Bunge officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Harmony cemetery. the pall-bearers were: C. P. Krieg, Geo. Webber, Harry Huffman, John Schweikert, Geo. Chettinger and Ed. Lundt.
