Mrs. Arthur J. Faber died Monday, April 27, 1931, at Chicago, Ill., as a result of lympho-sarcoma, after an illness of about a year and a half.
Anastasia (Donlon) Faber was born on the old Donlon homestead in Highland township, the second youngest daughter of Patrick and Mary Donlon. She received her education in St. Mary's at Prairie du Chien and on August 27, 1901, was united in the holy bonds of wedlock with Dr. Arthur J. Faber here in St. Joseph's church. One son, Luke, was born to this union.
Deceased was a native of this county, resided here in Elkader, in North Dakota, and since Jan. this year in Chicago. She was an accomplished musician and taught music. She was a devout member of the Catholic church.
Besides the bereaved husband, Mrs. Faber is survived by her son Luke, who is a student in Northwestern University; two sisters and six brothers, namely: Ellen, Mary, John, Malachy, William, Dr. Stephen, the Rev. Luke and Dr. Joseph.
Funeral services were held here this morning in St. Joseph's Catholic church, the Rev. Father Luke Donlon presiding as celebrant, The Rev. Father James Taken as deacon, Father Peikert as sub-deacon, Father Sharpoff, master of ceremonies. The Rev. Father A. Peikert, who assisted at her wedding, preached the funeral sermon. Many of the neighboring priests were present at the services. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
