GUTTENBERG: Mr. Joseph Jaeger of this place lived only a few minutes after his body was thrown from a forty foot windmill tower by the breaking of the gin-pole that was being used in the work of erecting a windmill on the farm occupied by Mr. Moaning near Clayton Ridge, last Wednesday evening.
Mr. Jaeger's body was thrown a distance of twenty feet from the forty foot windmill tower, striking the ground on his back and it was reported that the force of the fall broke practically every bone in his body.
The body was brought to Guttenberg on Wednesday evening and burial was made on Thursday in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
He is survived by a widow, three daughters and two sons, also several brothers, grandchildren and other relatives.
Mr. Jaeger has been a resident of Guttenberg for many years and has always followed the carpenter trade.
