The remains of Mrs. J. J. Welch were laid to rest at 9:30 Saturday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, The Rev. Luke Donlon officiating. The Welch family at one time were residents of Monona and the family has the sympathy of many friends here. Mrs. Welch was in an automobile accident on Christmas Eve and suffered a fractured skull and several breaks in her leg. Her suffering was intense. Surviving are the widower J. J. Welch, two sons Gene and B. Welch, and two daughters, Mrs. T. Stapleton and Mrs. Peggy Geer. The remains were shipped here from Ellsworth, Ill.

An obit in the Monona Leader names her as Florence, w/o James J. Welch. Their son Jimmie is also buried in St. Patrick's. She died in Elmhurst or Ellsworth, IL 1/31/1931 of her injuries.
