HASS, HAAS, DAUGS

Funeral services for Herman C. F. Haas*, 67, were held Sunday afternoon from the Evan. Luth. church, the Rev. A. Daugs officiating. Mr. Haas has been in failing health since last November and passed away Thursday, about noon. He was born August 22, 1868, at Pomerain, Germany. Oct. 4, 1888, he married and lived in Germany and later emigrated to this country. After several years he purchased a farm on Pleasant Ridge, east of Monona, and in 1919 moved to Monona. Many friends attended the funeral. The choir of St. Paul's church rendered several hymns and a vocal duet was sung by Mrs. Hugo Pape and Palmer Daugs, with Miss Lorene Kurdelmeyer at the organ. The pallbearers were Messrs. Gustav Strelow, James Geraghty, Sr., Henry C. Schmitt, Fred Mielke, Sr., Geo. Wagner, Sr., and Franz Mielke.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Augusta Hass, one daughter, Alvina, Mrs. Frederick C. Daugs, and four sons, Otto and Walter of Monona, Frederick and Charles of McGregor, seven grandchildren; also one brother and three sisters in Germany. A son died in Germany and a daughter in this country.
