On Tuesday the home of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Behrend was saddened by the sudden death of Mr. Behrend.
Mr. Behrend was on his way home when he got sick so he stopped at the home of Mr. Joeger. Dr. A. E. Beyer was called and in a few minutes he was dead.
He leaves a widow, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Sadewasser, Sr., of Guttenberg, and Mrs. C. Mierson, of Missouri, and five brothers, Martin and Fred, of Guttenberg, William of Millville, Charles of Farmersburg and John of Fayette, and many other relatives.
The funeral was held in St. Paul's Lutheran church on Friday p.m. at 2 o'clock. Rev. James Sopka officiated and burial was made in the City cemetery. Mr. Behrend was a member of the American Legion and St. Paul's Lutheran church.
