Funeral services for Mrs. Janie E. Walker were held Sunday afternoon from the Pilgrim Evangelical church, Rev. R. W. Berg officiating, with burial in the city cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Edward Pape, H. S. Rittenhouse, F. R. Bothel, W. C. Kruse, P. H. English, H. T. Orr and Dr. A. L. Currie. Hymns were rendered by Mrs. R. W. Berg and Mrs. O. A. Hillman, accompanied by Mrs. Ida Kolbe. The members of the W.R.C., of which Mrs. Walker was an active member, marched in a body.
Mrs. Walker was born June 18, 1855, at National, Iowa. In 1874 she married H. Walker and to this union three children were born. She is survived by one son, Leslie Walker of Los Angeles, California, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Addie Egbert and Mrs. F. H. Howard of Monona. For the past twenty-two years she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Howard. She was a faithful member of the Pilgrim Evangelical church and was a true Christian. She was ever ready to lend a helping hand to her neighbors and friends. In her illness she was a patient sufferer.
