Clayton County Register, Thur., 17 July 1930. Elkport Column.
Helen Marie Nading, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrit Nading, was born at Littleport, Clayton County, Iowa, on September 28, 1911. She was received into the fellowship of the Triune God through holy baptism, on September 08, 1912. She was duly instructed and confirmed September 05, 1926. She was reared and lived at the home place where she stayed with her parents until her untimely passing. On June 10, 1930, she began to fail in health, all was done that was possible to save her life, but one greater God had other ways laid out for her. On July 01, at 1:00 a.m., I was called to her bedside where she was suffering. Hopes for her recovery were poor, I admonished her. She desired to receive Holy Communion, to give her strength on her last battle, "Through the valley of the shadow of death." But she knew what the Psalmist said: "For Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." Thus she was prepared to meet her Creator, who allowed her only such a short time to live, and she departed this life on July 04, 1930, at 7 a.m.
She leaves to mourn her untimely departure, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nading; three brothers, Melvin, Harold, and Kenneth, and one sister, Viola, and a host of friends and relatives, to mourn her. Peace be to her ashes.
She reached the age of 18 years, nine months and six days.
