Vesta Leota Nading, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Nading, was born at Mederville, April 15, 1909, and died at the University Hospital in Iowa City, May 23, 1930, following an illness of several months.
Her first school days were spent in Mederville, later she went to Edgewood and graduated from the high school there with the class of 1927. July 22, 1927, she was married to Egnar Nelson.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband and one child, Dorothy Marie, her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Thurn, Maxine and Dorothy Nading, also three half-brothers, Milo Murphy of Elkader, Oliver Murphy of Long Beach, Calif., and Elmer Nading of Littleport.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the farm home, six miles north of Edgewood, with the Rev. C. W. Cleveland, pastor of the Edgewood Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Cleveland assisted by the Rev. Cleveland sang two vocal numbers. During the services the little daughter, Dorothy Marie, aged eighteen months, was baptized by her mother's casket.
Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
