Mrs. Ann Conboy passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Frayer, at Fayette, Iowa, at 12:30 on the morning of Jan. 20, 1930, after an illness of three months.
Ann Curler was born in County Galwan, Ireland, Nov. 5, 1845. At the age of eight years she came to America with her parents, settling in Freehold, New Jersey, where she lived until she was eighteen years of age when she was united in marriage with Thomas Conboy, of Freehold, N.J. They came west in 1866, settling on a farm in Highland, Iowa. To this union twelve children were born, two of whom died in infancy and William at the age of twenty-four. The remaining children are: Mrs. Wm. Frayer, of Fayette, Iowa; Peter, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Michael, Thomas, John and Anna, of Volga; Mrs. T. W. Doyle, of Oelwein; Frank, of Cedar Rapids; and Earl, of Clinton; a brother, John Curler, and a sister, Mrs. Wm. Saden, both of Freehold, N.J., mourn her departure.
Mrs. Conboy was a life-long member of the Catholic church, always attending her religious duties until she became too feeble to do so. Her sweet disposition, her patience throughout her life will long be remembered and treasured by her children and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. P. Cregan at Sacred Heart church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Casket bearers were her six sons, Peter, Michael, Thomas, John, Frank and Earl. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery.
