DIED - At McGregor, November 29the, George Raitt. Mr. Raitt was born in Elliott, Maine, July 1, 1792 and was consequently in his sixty-eighth year. He was a vigorous healthy man, worth considerable property, but preferred daily labor to idleness.

He died at the house of his son, Oscar Raitt, Esq., of this place, after a very brief illness.

-Although the obituary does not give a burial place, if not buried in/near McGregor, he may be in Eliot, York co., Maine.

-George Raitt died 11/29/1859; age 67y 5m; burial in Raitt Plot cemetery, west side Goodwin Rd., Eliot, ME. Other burials Eliza, d. 8/27/1848, 52y; Elizabeth H., d. 8/27/1853, 28y 7m (source: Nathan Hale Cemetery Collection, Ancestry database, online)
