Miss Gunild Erickson Gulsvig died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson in Marion township, November 8th, after a brief illness of pneumonia.
Deceased was a daughter of Andrew and Marjet Gulsvig and was born in Hallingdal, Norway, Sept. 14th, 1858. She came to this country when but seven years old with her parents, a sister, Mrs. Torkel Nelson and a brother, Erick.
After a couple of years her parents prchased a farm south of Ole Wold's farm and it has been known as the Andrew Gulsvig place ever since.
Mr. Gulsvig died a number of years ago and Mrs. Gulsvig followed him January 1, 1916. Gunild still remained on the home place, Oscar Johnson and family living with her and working the farm.
When Mr. Johnson purchased the farm where he now lives Miss Gulsvig rented her farm and went with them to their new home. She has been in poor health for some time being a sufferer from asthma.
Miss Gulsvig was a beautiful character and will be missed by a wide circle of friends, especially by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, in whom she took great interest.
The funeral services were held Nov. 10th, Rev. Arveson officiating, and she was laid to rest in the Norway cemetery awaiting the call of the resurrection morn.
