Cheryl 'Chuck' Siebrecht, 75, of Altoona, Iowa formerly of Garnavillo, Iowa died Monday, July 22, 2019 at MercyOne Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. He was a lifelong resident of Garnavillo and had recently moved to Altoona, Iowa.

The son of Valmah and Magdelene Siebrecht, he was born July 23, 1943, at the family farm in rural St. Olaf.

Following graduation in 1961 from Garnavillo Community School, Chuck joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964. After proudly serving his country, he returned home to Clayton County, where he owned and operated a real estate and insurance business for several decades.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and was involved in several local communities. He particularly enjoyed serving his fellow veterans and took great pride in being a Veteran's Service Officer for Clayton County, where he helped several veterans receive medical help.

Chuck married Elaine (Eberhardt) Siebrecht and together had three sons. Following Elaine's death, Chuck found love again and married Jane (Matt Collins) Siebrecht.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jane, sons Scott (Maria), Aaron (Cathleen) and Mark, grandchildren Anastasia, Cael, and Mary, and brother Bud Siebrecht. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and sisters Valene Lau and Sharon Keener.

A visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Friday, July 26, 2019 in Garnavillo, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garnavillo, Iowa.

Inurnment with Military Rites will follow at Garnavillo City Cemetery*, Garnavillo, Iowa.

A ceremony will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Des Moines, Iowa at a later date.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elkader, Iowa is helping the family arrangements.

Note: He has a gravestone in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Dallas co., Iowa. It may be a cenotaph, or his remains were later removed to that cemetery.
