Jane Siebrecht, 72, of Altoona, formerly of Garnavillo, Iowa, died Aug. 19, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at Resthaven Cemetery*, West Des Moines will follow.

Jane was born in rural Northeast Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1971. She worked as an elementary teacher for over 30 years at Southeast Polk and Garnavillo schools.

Jane was married to Fred Collins, who preceded her in death in 1976. She found love again and married Chuck Siebrecht and they made their home in Garnavillo, where she became a proud mother of Chuck's three boys.

Jane loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a volunteer for St. Joseph Parish in Garnavillo and St. Joseph Parish School in Des Moines. She also spent time as a hospice volunteer. Jane took great pride in creating and organizing the annual Fourth of July Teddy Bear Parade in Garnavillo for 25 years.

Jane is survived by sons, Scott (Maria), Aaron (Cathleen), and Mark; and grandchildren, Anastasia, Cael and Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ruth; husbands, Fred Collins and Chuck Siebrecht; and a brother, Neil.

Iles Grandview Park Chapel in Des Moines is handling arrangements.

-Jane's name is engraved on a gravestone with her 2nd husband C.B. Siebrecht in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Dallas co., IA.
