The following was taken from the Telegraph - Herald, of Wednesday, June 9th:
"Mrs. William Bauers died at Mercy Hospital this morning at 9 o'clock. She was born in Garnavillo, Iowa, March 24, sixty-seven years ago and was united in marriage to William Bauer on September 19, 1871. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Fred, of Elkader, and Charles, of New Buena, and four daughters, Mrs. Max. Opitz, of Edgewood, Ia.; Mrs. Paul Schammell, of Waterloo; Mrs. Joseph H. Schiltz, and Mrs. Arthur Geiger, both of Dubuque.
"The remains have been taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Schiltz, 1210 Delhi street, from where they will be shipped Thursday to Elkader, Iowa, for burial."
The deceased will be remembered as having been a resident of this community before moving to Dubuque and friends join us in extending sympathy to the bereaved mourners.
