Robert “Bob” H. Lyons, 71, passed away June 10, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. 1st St., Ankeny.

Bob was born November 19, 1939 in Strawberry Point, Iowa to Vera Strauss and Edward Lyons. He graduated from Dysart High School in 1958.

Survivors include his wife, Modesta “Sue” Lyons of Ankeny; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Taylor of Lee Summit, MO, and Tammy (Kevin) Herink of Clutier, IA; step children, Michael (Karen) Blessing of Universal City, TX, Shelly (Doug) Cook of Pleasantville, IA, Kelly (Alan) Peacock of Lorimor, IA, and Julie (Lori) Blessing of Cedar Rapids, IA; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick Lyons of Blue Springs, MO and Pete Lamprecht of Red Oak, IA ; and step-sisters, Sally (Bill) Raub of Dysart, IA and Pam Rhodes of Des Moines, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents.
