Martha Schneider Smith was the daughter of Henry and Martha Schneider and was born on a farm near Froelich, Iowa, February 20th, 1870. She became the wife of Horace H. Smith September 9th, 1892, and passed out of sight, November 18th, 1915. Three children are the heirs of her love, Dayton, Leslie and Gretchen. These, together with their father, may find rich consolation in the love and heritage left them by this devoted wife and mother. Mundt, of Madison, S.D.; William Schneider, of Los Angeles; Rev. has. Schneider, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Dr. Herman Schneider, of Missouri; Conrad Schneider, of Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Mary Miss, of Portland, Ore. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church, November 20th, and the body was laid away in the Monona cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: S. A. Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gutheil, of Mason City, Iowa; C. J. Schneider, John Schneider and F. C. Blackstone, of Garner, Iowa; Mrs. Phil Webster, of Minneapolis; Mrs. R. N. Douglass, of Postville; Anna Hamilton, of Algona, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Frazer, of Wahpeton, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Ulrich, Mr. and Mrs. Augbright and Mr. and Mrs. Ballard, of Dubuque.
