Mary Fonda was born in Broadalbin, N.Y., February 4th, 1828. In 1849 she went to Troy, N.Y., where she spent the greater part of her life. She came to Monona in 1903, to the home of her brother, R. M. Fonda, where she remained until her death on November 17th, 1915. While in Troy she became a member of the Second Presbyterian Church to which she was loyal to the time of her death. There are remaining of her family four brothers and one sister: William H. and Alexander A., of Osage; James M., of Bellevue, and Andrew J. and Helen C., of Monona. Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church, on November 19th, Rev. C. H. Linn officiating. Interment in Monona cemetery.
