John P. Junk, a pioneer resident of this part of the county, passed away Saturday night, at his residence on First street. He was 7_ years old last April and was born in Dreiss, Kreis Wittlick, Reg_erungs, ____rk Trier, Rhenish Prussia, served his fatherland in the Prussian army and after being honorably discharged emigrated to this country fifty-two years ago, settled near Frenchtown and successfully farmed there until about seventeen years ago, when he sold his land and retired, building a home in town. He is survived by his wife and one brother, Mathias. His funeral took place Tuesday forenoon, interment in the city cemetery.
