Gunder Thompson was born on Oct. 14th, 1852, in Nummedal, Norway, and died at his home in Wagner township very unexpectedly last Friday.
He came to this country and to Clayton county with his parents and two brothers in 1857. He was a brother of Knudt and Ole Thompson and also a sister Dora living in San Francisco, Cal.
On April 30th, 1879, he was married to Miss Gina Hulverson, who has ever been a gentle, faithful and patient wife. Three children were born to them, Albert, Oscar and Herbert. Soon after their marriage they moved to Jewell Co., Kansas, where they lived on a farm for nine years, and then moved back to Clayton County, where they settled down on a farm about a mile southwest of Farmersburg, where they have lived ever since,
Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at the Norway Lutheran Church and were largely attended. Interment in the Norway Lutheran cemetery, Rev. Arvesen officiating.
