Mrs. Melvina Hagensick passed away at Finley Hospital Friday evening at 8:00 o'clock, after an illness of a year's duration. Melvina Kraut was born May 14th, 1846, in Guttenberg. Her husband, Mathias Hagensick, of Ceres, preceded her to the grave about twenty years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss three daughters, Mrs. Wm. Schlitzer, of Jefferson township, Mrs. O. E. Gray, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Henry McCaneghy, of Bearside, Canada. From her first marriage with Mr. Eckle, of near National, she is survived by three sons, Jacob and George, of National, and Louis Eckle, of Lincoln, Nebr., and one daughter, Miss Anna Eckle, in National. Her remains were brought to Guttenberg to her home on Second Street and burial took place Monday afternoon in the city cemetery, Rev. Wm. K. Braun, of Garnavillo, officiating.
