Register and Argus, 13 May 1915.

Maria Dorothea Friederike Hinrichs was born Nov. 14th, 1838, at Alt-Kreuzlinerhutte, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, and was married to John Hinrichs in 1864. In 1870 they emigrated to the United States, living in Wisconsin for two years and then coming to Clayton county.

Her death occurred Wednesday morning, May 5th, at 8:00 o'clock, aged seventy-six years, five months and twenty-one days.

She leaves six children Mrs. Maria Bruening, of Osterdock; William, Mrs. Emma Dannenbring, Lina and Mrs. Bertha Bruening, of Guttenberg; and John; also one brother of Sioux Falls, S.D., eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One child died in infancy and her husband died in 1898.

The funeral was held at the Lutheran church at Elkport on Friday, May 7th, Rev. Paulsen officiating.
