Redena Mead

Redena F. Mead, 81, of McGregor, IA, died Wednesday, March 15, 1989 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.

She was born July 25, 1907 at Viroqua, Wisconsin to Albert and Mary Hendrickson Gohde. On Jan. 3, 1922 she married William D. Mead at McGregor, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, McGregor, IA with Rev. Katherine Harding officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, who died Jan. 1, 1973; a son, Wm. L.; and 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Nancy Salatka, Shono, Arizona, Mrs. Lane (Sharon) Swenson, Postville and Mrs. Roger (Mary) Oelke, Garnavillo; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ted (Violet) Anderson, Clermont, Mrs. Ray (Alvina) Sabado, LaCrosse, WI and a brother, Clarence (Bud) Gohde, McGregor.
