From the Wed., 10 Mar. 1909 issue of the "McGregor News," page 6, column 3:
Mrs. Washington Duerr died Monday at about noon at the home of her daughters Mrs. John Duerr after a long illness. She had been in poor health since the tragic death of her husband a few of years ago [sic]. With her mother, Mrs. John Tangeman, she had made her home since August with Mrs. John Duerr. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Alvin Adney, Mrs. Henry Ellenboldt [sic], and Mrs. Duerr, five sons, Mr. Russell [sic: Russow], of Dubuque; Willie and Mike, of Farmersburg; Ed a resident of Oklahoma and Fritz, of Dakota; also two sisters, Mrs. Winkle [sic: Winkel] of Dubuque and Mrs. Wehler of West McGregor.
