From the Wed., 10 Mar. 1909 issue of the "McGregor News," page 6, column 3:

Mrs. Washington Duerr died Monday at about noon at the home of her daughters Mrs. John Duerr after a long illness. She had been in poor health since the tragic death of her husband a few of years ago [sic]. With her mother, Mrs. John Tangeman, she had made her home since August with Mrs. John Duerr. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Alvin Adney, Mrs. Henry Ellenboldt [sic], and Mrs. Duerr, five sons, Mr. Russell [sic: Russow], of Dubuque; Willie and Mike, of Farmersburg; Ed a resident of Oklahoma and Fritz, of Dakota; also two sisters, Mrs. Winkle [sic: Winkel] of Dubuque and Mrs. Wehler of West McGregor.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her aged mother, Mrs. Tangeman, three daughters, Mrs. Alvin Adney, Mrs. John Duerr and Mrs. Henry Ellenbolt [sic], five sons, Henry Russow, of Dubuque, Will and Mike Russow, of Farmersburg, Ed in Oklahoma and Fred in Dakota, and two sisters, Mrs. Winkle, of Dubuque and Mrs. Wehler, of McGregor.
