Elkader Register, Thur., 14 Oct. 1880. From the McGregor Times, undated.

Paul Castle, aged 81 years, died on the 5th inst. He was an old resident of McGregor.

DIED - In McGregor, October 5th, 1880, at the residence of Henry H. Reynolds, Paul Castle, SR., aged eighty-on years and seven months.

The deceased was born in England, in March, 1799. He came to Iowa in 1852. Three children mourn his death - Mrs. Hall, of Decorah; Mrs. H.H. Reynolds and Paul Castle JR, of this city.

He has passed over into the unknown beyond at a ripe old age. A quiet, even tempered life, kind and indulgent, respected for his many virtues. Another of the pioneers gone to his reward.

The funeral occurred at two o'clock to-day from the residence of Mr. Reynolds, the services being conducted by Rev. Casebeer.
