Johanna F. S. Lepel.
Mrs. F. S. Lepel, mother of Mrs. Frank Rohwedder, of Clayton twp., died at the home of her daughter last Friday. Mrs. Lepel was born in the town of Lpiegelsdorf, Pommern, Germany, on May 21, 1834. On May 10, 1854 she was married to Ludwig Huehr. She was the loving mother of 3 children, only one of which; Mrs. Rohwedder, is now living. Mr. Huehr died in 1866, and in 1868 Mrs. Huehr, was again married to John C. Lepel. Eight years later, Mr. and Mrs. Lepel and daughter arrived in America, coming directly to Clayton Center, where they resided until the death of Mr. Lepel, which occurred nearly four years later. For the past twenty years Mrs. Lepel lived with her daughter, Mrs. Rohwedder, at whose home she expired last Friday. She was buried on Easter Sunday, and the day now celebrated for the great victory of Christ over death marked the awakening fom death unto life eternal of another Christian. May her soul rest in peace.
