C. J. Knight, an old and highly esteemed citizen, died Tuesday evening at the age of seventy-seven. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, of which he was a member.

C.J. Knight died at his home in this city Tuesday eve., after a week's illness. Mr. Knight was well known, having been for many years engaged in the business of a marble cutter.
He was a man of sterling character, strictly honest and upright in all his dealings, deeply religious and one whose example in life was for good in every sense. He was a most devoted and consistent member of the M.E. Church.
The funeral will be held to day from the family residence, services by Rev. Ferguson, his pastor. Deceased was upwards of 70 years of age.
