Elkader Register, Fri., 17 Jan. 1896.
On Sunday evening about 6 o'clock Eveline, the little five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dunn, of Cox Creek twp., passed into eternity after several days illness, first with whooping cough, and lastly with pleurisy, which resulted in death. Funeral services were held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Reilley officiating, and the little bud of promise which medical skill and the tender care of loving parents had failed to preserve, was laid to rest. Well - it must be sad to say good bye to loved ones, yet only those who have had experience know how sad it is. May the great Comforter bind up the broken hearts of those who mourn the death of - little Eveline. - Democrat.

Elkader Register, Fri., 17 Jan. 1896. Osborne column.
DIED - On Sunday evening at 6 o'clock the bright little daughter of Mr. Peter Dunn and wife, in her fifth year, after an illness of two weeks with whooping cough and lung fever. Medical care and the tender care of loving parents and friends could not keep her from being taken. Death is sad and that of little children seems to touch the chords of sympathy all the more forcibly, but Christian parents are comforted with the assurance that the little one is now enjoying sweet communion with the Heavenly Master. The remains were followed to their resting place by a large concourse of friends, who sympathize with the stricken parents.
