A memorial service was held for Lucille A. Winch, 73, Elkader. Msgr. Friedl officiated the service.

Lucille A. Winch was born July 12, 1910, in Read Township of Clayton County, the daughter of Charles and Amelia (Stendel) Meyer. She was the valedictorian of her high school graduating class of Elkader.

In 1931 she married Sylvester Winch in Littleport. She was employed at the Elkader Wire Company. In the early 1950s she received cancer chemotherapy at the University Hospital in Iowa City where she remained in their study throughout her life. She donated her body to science in 1960. She also donated her eyes to the Eye Bank at La Crosse, Wis.

Lucille A. Winch died Wednesday, March 14, 1984, at the La Crosse Lutheran Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Ronald of St. Paul, Minn., Bradley of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif., Gary of Fort Dodge, Minn., Penny of Minneapolis, Minn., eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1967, and her parents.
