Elkader Register, Fri., 10 May 1895.

DIED- On Thursday evening last, May 2d, only one day after the burial of his wife, John Kelleher, Sr., sank to rest in the sleep of death. He was born in County Waterford, Ireland, about 1825. Coming to the United States in 1948, in 1856 he came to this county and settled in Highland twp., where he resided until about a year ago, when he came to Elkader. The deceased was one of our most worthy citizens and his departure will be sincerely mourned by his many relatives and friends. The funeral was held on Saturday last at St. Joseph's, Rev. Father Reilly officiating, and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. May he rest in peace.
