Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Mar. 1895. Elkport column.

DIED - At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Longs occurred the death of the infant daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Dorman. The little one was only 4 months, 28 days old, its death being possibly caused by heart disease. It is the saddest thing of the kind that has ever happened in our vicinity and will ever be remembered by those present. The father and mother have the heartfelt sympathy of all in the hour of their sad bereavement. Although Baby Dorman had not arrived at the years of understanding, it heard the rustle of an angel's wing, and its silent whisper seemed to say, "Come up higher to the dear land beyond, leaving only a withered flower behind." Baby Dorman was worshipped by every one that knew her and filled the hearts of her father and mother with joy and sunshine, but "Suffer the little children to come unto me."

Baby Dorman passed away Thursday morning, March 4th. The funeral services were conducted at the U.B. church by Rev. S. Hansel, Friday, at 1:30 o'clock. The remains were laid in Brown's cemetery, near Colesburg.

(Earlier in the same column.)

While coming to town Thursday Mrs. Nettie Dorman was horror stricken to find that her baby was dead. It being a very cold morning Mrs. Dorman wrapped her baby up warm and started for Elkport, and when near Mrs. Godden's she looked at the baby and was horror stricken to find the child dead. Evidently the little one was smothered to death. Mr. and Mrs. Dorman have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction. The funeral took place Friday, Rev. Hansel officiating.
