Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Dec. 1893.
In our last we briefly mentioned the death of the aged mother of Senator John Everall, at Farmersburg, on Dec. 18th, 1893. Elizabeth Liversage was born in Shropshire, England, Nov. 17th, 1811, and was married to Richard Everall Jan. 18th, 1838. In 1851 they came to the United States by the way of New Orleans and settled in Iowa. They united with the Congregational church while in England, and after arriving in this country assisted in the organization of the first Congregational churches at Edgewood and National. Mr. Everall preceded her to the other shore some four years ago, also one daughter who died in 1866. The immediate surviving members of the family are John Everall, in this county, and Mrs. M. A. Sutton, of Wauzeka, Wis. The deceased has two brothers living in England and one sister, Mrs. M. Callant, at Spencer, Dakota.
The funeral was held on Thursday, Dec. 21st, at Farmersburg, Rev. R. C. Lusk officiating. Among the affecting incidents attending the last, sad ceremonies was the attendance of Miss Everall, a sister of Richard Everall, a lady 96 years of age, who is blind and deaf, yet while in very poor health, is patiently awaiting the call from the Master to come over the river. Her last farewell to the dear departed was extremely touching.
The interment of Mrs. Everall was beside her husband in the cemetery at National.
