Elkader Register, Thur., 16 Aug. 1894.
On the 10th inst., at the family residence in Boardman twp., after an extended illness, Christina, wife of Ernest Meisner, passed away. Christina Schmidt was born in Trabnitz, Germany, in 1827, and came to this country in 1853. On Sept. 11th, 1854, she married Mr. Meisner, and after a short residence at Batavia, Ill., they came to Elkader in 1855, and in 1860, moved onto the farm where she died. Eight children were born to them, of whom six are living, Louis, Charles, Rynhold, Frank, Mrs. Clara Carr and William, who with the father mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and mother.
The funeral was held Saturday morning at the M.E. church, Rev. Siefert officiating, and was very largely attended by sympathizing neighbors and friends of the family.
