Elkader Register, Thur., 09 Aug. 1894.

At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cunningham, in Highland twp., on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 7th, Nellie, their only daughter passed from this life, after an illness of about six weeks. She was born Nov. 19th, 1872 and was in her 22nd year. Nellie graduated from the Elkader school with the class of '91 and was making great progress in her profession of teaching when the fatal illness came on shortly after retiring from the work in the western part of the state. Bright, active and intelligent she was a favorite with all her friends both old and young. To her parents this trouble appears almost too great to bear, may He who does all things well comfort them in their affliction. The funeral will be held this morning at St. Joseph's
