Elkader Register, Thur., 12 Nov. 1891.

DIED - At Osterdock, Ia., Nov. 5th, Andrew Crotzer, aged 53 years. Mr. Crotzer was born in Monroe county, Penn., Aug. 3rd, 1838. When the war of the rebellion broke out he bid adieu to home and friends and all that was near and dear to him and enlisted in Co. H, 11th Penn. Cav. Vol. and served until June, 1865. For seven weeks prior to his death he suffered terribly with cancer of the liver and stomach. The writer hereof was present during the post mortem and saw the worst cancer he ever beheld. His remains were laid to rest by his comrades of Hassendenfel Post, G.A.R. 146 at Guttenberg, Ia. Comrade Crotzer was a member of the Post at Scranton, Pa. He leaves a wife to mourn his early departure to the spiritual world, and who has the sympathy of all.
