Elkader Register, Thur., 08 Oct. 1891. Volga column.
At Strawberry Point on Thursday, October 1, 1891, occurred the death of Edna, oldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Goldsworthy, of Brush Creek, aged 12 years, 3 months and 11 days. She had been visiting relatives in Manchester, and was taken sick there. Her friends started to take her home, but were compelled to stop at Strawberry Point, where she died in a short time. Her parents reached her before she died. She was a bright child and was loved by all who knew her. Her sadly bereaved parents have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their sorrow. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Goldsworthy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Piper, in Volga, Saturday, Rev. J. G. Whitford conducting the service. Interment was made in the Volga cemetery.
